Sculpted Orchids Tutorial #3

This tutorial, the third in “Miniature Sculpted Orchids” series, explains how to sculpt tiny Lady's Slippers (or Paphiopedilum) orchids, how to make the leaves with different shades of polymer clay, how to apply these sculpted details to a sea glass base, and how to do simple wire-wrapping of the sea glass pieces. Bonus material includes instructions for a faux sea glass (made from polymer clay, of course!).

The tutorial includes:
  • Detailed list of materials;
  • Complete list of tools needed to finish this project;
  • Instructions for wire-wrapping of the sea glass base;
  • Detailed step-by-step instructions for free-hand sculpting of miniature Paphiopedilum orchids embellished with glass beads;
  • Thorough explanation of how to create each pattern on orchids petals and leaves;
  • Instructions for applying the polymer clay parts to a sea glass base;
  • Additional tips to guide you though this project;
  • Nearly fifty big full-color pictures showing every step.

Pre-requisites: Some previous experience with polymer clay and/or wire-wrapping, but not necessary.

Following this tutorial, you will be able to re-create the item shown on the cover of the tutorial and apply this new technique for your future creations. This project is based on my own techniques and ideas, which means 1) this is the only place where you can learn this technique and 2) I am asking you to play nice and observe my copyright. In particular,

  • please do not to copy and/or distribute this tutorial or any parts of it;
  • once you have learned my techniques, please do not copy any of my creations except those shown in the tutorial;
  • please do not teach these techniques or parts of them in any setting, including any classes and workshops, as well as any on-line forums or discussion boards;
  • and please give me some credit for both the techniques and designs.
Note: This tutorial will be sent to you automatically by E-mail as soon as I receive the payment notification message from PayPal.

Please E-mail me if you have any questions.
